#1 Setting up the OneDrive Account

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Have a personal email address that you will use to setup your OneDrive Account on your computer.

Note: If you are setting OneDrive up on a Breakthrough Computer, skip straight to the next section #2 Download the OneDrive App

CREATE A ONEDRIVE ACCOUNT

  1. Go to microsoft.com in your web browser
  2. Go to Microsoft365 > Products > OneDrive > Create account
  3. Enter your email address > Create a password > Enter Details
  4. A code will be sent to your email address > Enter the code
  5. Prove that you are not a robot by answering the questions

#2 Download the OneDrive App On Your Computer

DOWNLOAD APP

  1. App Store > OneDrive > Get > Install (Note: It is free)

OPEN APP AND SETUP

  1. Open the OneDrive App that has just been downloaded onto your computer
  2. Enter your email address and password (the same email address and password you used in Part #1) [Note: If you are setting up on a Breakthrough Computer, use  teambreakthrough158@gmail.com and password = SecureData@30]
  3. Follow the remaining steps of the setup. Note: When you are asked to “Choose OneDrive Folder Location” I suggest you just use the defaults suggested.

#3 Add Team Breakthrough OneDrive

So far, you have setup a Personal OneDrive Account on your computer.
Now, you connect your OneDrive Account to include the Team Breakthrough OneDrive

ADD THE TEAM BREAKTHROUGH ONEDRIVE

  1. Select the OneDrive Logo in the top right of your screen (for a Mac Computer)
  2. Select “Preferences” > “Account” Tab > “Add an Account”
  3. Enter email address: teambreakthrough@breakthroughmelbourne.onmicrosoft.com
  4. Passord: John15.8
  5. More Information Required > Next

SETUP MICROSOFT AUTHENTICATOR ON YOUR PHONE

On your phone install and setup the Microsoft Authenticator app.

VERIFY YOUR ONEDRIVE ACCOUNT

Using the Microsoft Authenticator app, you can now verify the Team Breakthrough OneDrive account that you have setup on your computer.

  1. On the Authenticator app on your phone, ADD WORK OR SCHOOL ACCOUNT
  2. Using your phone: Scan the QR code that is on your computer
  3. Team Breakthrough will now appear on your Authenticator App.
  4. Enter the two-digit number shown on the computer onto your phone.
  5. Select “Next”
  6. You will receive a notification to say that your Team Breakthrough account has been registered.
  7. Select “Done”

 

SETTING UP THE TEAM BREAKTHROUGH ACCOUNT

  1. “Choose OneDrive Folder Location” Note: I suggest you just use the defaults suggested.

 

Now at the top of your computer (on a Mac) you will have two OneDrive Logos - one is your Personal OneDrive and the second is the Team Breakthrough OneDrive

#4. Use Sharepoint to see the Team Breakthrough Files

SETUP SHAREPOINT

  1. In your web browser go to office.com
  2. Sign in > teambreakthrough@breakthroughmelbourne.onmicrosoft.com
  3. Password > John15.8
  4. TOP LEFT CORNER - Click on the “App Launcher” (nine dots in a square)
  5. Select “SharePoint”
  6. It will bring up a box with “Team Breakthrough” Group > Click on the Word “Team Breakthrough”
  7. It will bring you into the Team Breakthrough Private Group
  8. Click on the word “Documents” in the list on the left hand side 
  9. Click on the word “Sync”
  10. Allow page to open OneDrive? YES
  11. Press CLOSE whilst the files are syncing in the background.

TURN ON FINDER EXTENSION

  1. Go to the OneDrive-Breakthrough Church Logo at the top of the screen (on the Mac)
  2. Click on the “Turn On Finder Extension” button
  3. The Extensions option will automatically open in Settings and the “Finder Extensions” should be selected from the list on the left.
  4. Click on the square next to “OneDrive Finder Integration” - a tick will appear in the square

If you look in the OneDrive-Breakthrough Church Logo at the top of the screen (on the Mac) it will now say “Files On-Demand is All Set Up”

Note: The video also shows how to do this by going straight to Settings.

ADD A LINK TO ONEDRIVE DIRECTORIES IN MY FINDER WINDOW (Mac Instructions)

  1. Open FINDER
  2. In the Menu at the top of the screen “Go” > “Computer”
  3. Select the Hard Disk where the files are stored (eg. Macintosh HD)
  4. Select “Users”
  5. Select the folder that is the username that you login as
  6. Drag the “OneDrive” folder Into the favourites list on the left hand side of the Finder window. This will create a link to your Personal OneDrive folder.
  7. Drag the “Breakthrough Church” folder (Note: NOT the OneDrive Breakthrough Church folder!) into the favourites list on the left hand side of the Finder window. This will create a link to the Team Breakthrough folder.

#5 Add OneDrive to Your Login Items

This is an important final step to ensure that your OneDrive loads up every time that you turn your computer on.’

Instructions below are for a Mac computer

  1. Open Settings
  2. Select “Users & Groups”
  3. To ensure that you can make these changes: Click the padlock in the bottom left corner and enter your login password for your computer.
  4. Click on your Current User from the list on the left.
  5. Ensure the “Login Items” tab is selected
  6. You will see a list of “These items will open automatically when you log in:” (The list may be empty)
  7. At the bottom of the window that shows the list click the PLUS button (Note: This is NOT the plus button that is in the bottom left corner just above the padlock)
  8. Select “Applications”
  9. Search for “onedrive”
  10. Find the “OneDrive” which is the application and select it
  11. Click on the “Add” button
  12. OneDrive will be now listed to automatically open whenever you log in.
