One of the manifestations of God’s favour is how He puts a blessing on us that anoints, enables, and releases us to get things done. We see this in the blessing spoken over Benjamin—the “beloved of the Lord.” That’s not just to say, “I’m loved of God,” and stop there. When God says something, we’re not only meant to echo it but to speak through the lens of it into our lives and circumstances.
Hebrews 13 gives us an example of this: “He Himself has said, ‘I will never desert you nor will I ever forsake you,’ so that we may confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.’” God says, I’m with you, so we boldly say, He’s my helper. We don’t just say “God loves me” and leave it there. Because He loves me, I can speak favour, open doors, protection, and strength over my life.
Revelation 3 speaks about the church in Philadelphia, a church that received a good report from Jesus. They weren’t the biggest or most resourced group, yet they were faithful. Jesus said to them, “I have set before you an open door which no one can shut… and I will make them know that I have loved you.” That’s favour at work. When His love is on you, it shows up in open doors that no man can close.
Jesus said He holds the Key of David—He opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens. Isaiah 22 explains what that key represents. There was a man named Shebna who used his position for himself, building his own monument, and God removed him. Then God raised up Eliakim, a faithful man, and said, “I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David; he shall open and none shall shut.” God gave royal authority to a servant who could be trusted.
That’s what God does with us. Because He loves us, He gives us favour—authority that opens doors, makes a way, and gets things done. We’re not just to say “God loves me,” but because He loves me, I declare that doors are opening, provision is coming, and opportunities are being released.
I remember when our daughter Katelyn was doing her degree. She wanted to switch courses, but every person she spoke to said, “It’s not possible.” I said, “Ring again—we have favour.” After several calls, she reached someone who said, “That’s strange, there’s a one-week window to transfer.” She got through. Door opened. Then it closed again. That’s favour in action.
We are a royal family—a chosen generation, a royal priesthood. And because of His favour, we can speak with authority. Jesus, who holds the Key of David, is opening doors that no man can shut. So don’t just stop at saying “God loves me.” Say, therefore—doors are opening, provision is flowing, healing and restoration are here.
Father, because You love us, You open doors for us. We declare today: provision here, healing here, wholeness here, restoration here, freedom here—open doors, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
